With eTrigger, one electrical pulse on the GPIO of one camera makes all other cameras expose at the same PTP time. The sender camera gets the pulse and broadcasts a scheduled action command. Each receiver camera starts its exposure at the time in that command.
1. The host arms the receiver cameras (burst trigger on Action0).2. The host sets one camera to ActionMode = Send.3. A button or PLC sends a pulse to Line3 of the sender camera.4. The sender camera broadcasts an action command with the execution time T. T is the PTP time at the pulse plus a lead time.5. The host relays the broadcast to the second VLAN.6. All receiver cameras expose at PTP time T and send their burst images to the host through RDMA.
The host does not send the trigger. The host knows that the trigger occurred when the burst images arrive. The sender camera does not acquire images, thus a system with 20 cameras gives 19 image bursts. All cameras must have PTP lock before the pulse.
